Client Art Show 2013
On April 29, 2013 the Jerome Golden Center for Behavioral Health presented the Client Art Show. The art show, which featured over 90 pieces of art, included acrylic paintings, acrylic crayon, ink and stick, watercolors and quilting, were presented by the Center’s talented clients, under the direction of teaching artists: Ruth Amiel, Nancy Rossi, Gene Kroner, Vivian Fabbro Keenan, Liz Segall, Kathy Azeez, and art class director, Barbara E. Golden, Ph. D.
As an innovative leader in the mental health community, the Center uses many forms of therapy to help clients cope with symptoms, stress, and traumatic experiences; enhance cognitive abilities; and enjoy the life-affirming pleasures that come with creating artwork.
“After watching these students go through the process of creating these works of art and seeing the boost in their self-confidence when they are finished makes it all worth it,” said art class coordinator Dr. Barbara Golden. “With these students, gaining self-assurance and learning the importance of perseverance will help them greatly in their future encounters.”
“All of the artists were enthused over what they were able to accomplish,” said Dr. Linda DePiano, CEO of the Jerome Golden Center for Behavioral Health. “Seeing how excited and proud of themselves they are makes it all worthwhile. We are thrilled with the amount of effort they put into this show and hope they were just as pleased with the results.”
